To set up an appointment, simply call or email an administrative staff member at Campbell Counselling Centre and request to meet with a psychologist in Halifax. While self-referrals are welcome, to extend coverage, some health insurance companies require that a client is referred for counselling by a physician. If this is the case, you may first choose to contact your physician to request a referral to Campbell Counselling Centre. Counselling is a collaboration between a client and psychologist, using talk therapy, for the benefit of the client. During the first session, clients discuss their concerns or problems. Goals for personal growth and development are then determined. In following sessions, clients learn how to develop healthier thoughts, feelings and behaviors so that their goals can be realized.
