I’ve just been diagnosed with COPD. What’s going to happen?
It’s natural to be worried about your condition, especially if you haven’t been told enough about what’s happening to you. Fortunately, most cases of COPD are mild or moderate. If you look after yourself properly, then there’s no reason why you can’t live a long and active life. COPD is the lung condition about which we get most questions, and we at the BLF have lots of ways to help you. You can read here on our website about your condition and how to live with it, and about the various tests and treatments. We have advice about giving up smoking, eating healthily, and getting exercise. You’ll also find out about things like welfare benefits, holidays and travel, your home, and insurance. All of this information and more is also available in our printed publications, which you can order free of charge. If you’re looking for a bit of support, or just to talk to people like yourself, then you can contact your nearest Breathe Easy Group, join our BLF web Community, or enrol in our PenPals
