Ive installed my ImageMate and its connected to my computer in Windows 98. Why is my system locking up and giving me the blue screen?
You probably have Adaptec(R) Easy CD Creator(TM) version 3.5, 4.0 or 4.1 installed on your system. This software probably came with your Iomega(R), HP(R), or other branded CD RW drive. The Easy CD Creator program uses certain APIX.vxd functions that are also incorporated into Windows 98. This alone is not a problem. However, when CD Creator is installed, it renames Microsoft’s APIX files. When these files are renamed, compatibility issues arise between CD Creator and other peripherals (such as ImageMate) that use the APIX functions. To rectify the problem, please follow the instructions below: For Easy CD creator 3.5 and earlier or Direct CD 2.5d: Upgrade to 3.5c Apply the floppy107.exe patch from ROXIO (see bottom of page) You will find the update to 3.5c and the floppy107.exe towards the bottom of the page. Once you have upgraded and run the patch, please restart the machine and then plug the ImageMate in, you should now be on-line. For Easy CD creator 4.0 and 4.01: Upgrade to 4.02 T
