Ive heard various sexual abuse prevention program names floating around. What are they all?
You have probably heard of VIRTUS and Protecting God’s Children. Protecting God’s Children is one of many programs of VIRTUS, a software program created by the National Catholic Risk Retention Group (NCRRG). It is the program the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, as well as many other dioceses, has chosen to use for building awareness in compliance with the US Bishops’ Charter to Protect Children and Young People. The other name you may have heard is Safe Environment. This is a general term used more as a goal statement than a title. All efforts and programs in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee that relate to protecting God’s children and creating a safe environment come under the umbrella of Safeguarding All of God’s Family.
