In prior seasons, we experimented with a special practice immediately after the general session. The special sessions, which will run 30 minutes immediately following the general practice, will be by permission only, and that permission will be revoked in the event this type of session does not seem to work for any particular participant. My goal in these sessions is to let those kids who really love running, jumping and throwing work on a particular event or type of event with more specialized coaching. Once I have a better idea of our coaches schedules, I will be able to let you know which event groups will be held. Participants will need to be able to follow directions and practice without being disruptive to other runners. Those runners who wish to compete in the Junior Olympics meets this spring should consider whether they wish to be part of the special practices. I do not expect our runners 7-and-under will do so, and I do not expect many 8s, either. (Junior Olympics competition
