I’ve heard the sperm can travel through pores in condoms, is that true?
No. • Neither latex or polyurethane condoms have pores. Under a microscope the surface of a condom looks pitted and uneven but there are no pores that go right through the entire condom. Much of this worry comes from studies done on latex rubber gloves, which may have pores because they are not manufactured to the same standards as condoms. • Condoms are tested when they are made to ensure no holes have been made during the manufacturing process. Condoms that are not perfect are destroyed. • Remember you can actually make a hole in the condom yourself. So take care when you open it, don’t open the packet with your teeth and don’t keep condoms in your pocket or bag next to sharp objects.
