I’ve heard the refrain, “To get a job, leave New York!” So where do grads find jobs, and where are the best prospects?
Everywhere! Our graduates have recently landed jobs in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Miami and smaller markets such as Columbus, Ohio, Bend, Ore., Jackson Hole, Wyo., Fort Bend, Ind., Durango, Col., Biloxi, Miss. Students also found jobs in Germany, Japan, Dubai, Lebanon, Thailand, Israel, Argentina, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, England, Canada, India and other countries. While many students desire major news media markets, numerous opportunities exist in small markets for full-time jobs in all media. Unlike the largest metro newspapers, many small and medium newspapers and alt weeklies are growing in circulation or holding steady, so employment in smaller markets is encouraging.
