Ive heard that the occasional digital “over” does no harm and having the signal level hit FSD makes for maximum impact. Why do you insist on keeping record levels below FSD?

Although an occasional “over” is too fast to detect, a whole series of them can build up to audible distortion, so the trick is to not hit the converters with too many of these in a row. I know that many recent hits have been mastered at very high digital levels and they certainly pack a punch, however they also cause listening fatigue resulting from inherent distortion.
