Dipping, or leaving furniture fully submersed in a tank of stripping solution tends to dry out the glue joints in furniture and may even warp veneers. Dipping IS harmful to fine furniture, so NO, we do not dip. Instead, Professional Furniture Service uses a flow-over-tray system to strip furniture. The piece is placed in a large elevated tray. The stripper is pumped through a flexible tube connected to a brush that allows the stripper to flow over the piece of furniture while the old finish is scrubbed off. By using this method, the stripping solution, only briefly comes into contact with the wood. The stripper loosens the old finish, not the glue joints nor the veneer. Ultimately, the removal of the old finish is accomplished by hand using the brush. While this process is more time consuming than dipping, the result is QUALITY not quantity.
