NO! This is a very common misconception, but the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) has found that only one-tenth of one percent of residential fires involve a Christmas tree- both real AND fake. Trees that are kept fresh are EXTREMELY difficult to ignite. Remember, they are mostly water and water doesn’t exactly burn well. For more information on Christmas tree safety, click HERE.
