This terminology is now out of date, although you may still see it in various places. The percentage refers to the amount of the first year devoted to Computer Science material. An NST Computer Science student takes two NST options together with NST Mathematics and the Computer Science option. Thus NST students are what was previously known as 25% CST students. A CST student takes one NST option, NST Mathematics, NST Computer Science, and another CST-only option. They were previously known as 50% CST students.
