Commerce on the Web is expected to grow from $2.6 billion in 1996 to more than $220 billion in 2001, according to a report by International Data Corporation (www.idc.com). The report, the highlights of which are available on IDC’s Web site, also said the number of devices accessing the Web will grow from 32 million in 1996 to more than 300 million by the end of 2001. The opportunity to make a lot of money is there and is only expected to increase.
