If you have experienced a serious health problem, such as cardiac problems, or severe mental health issues, then it is particularly important you let me know. It is very likely I will still be able to work with you, but I do need an accurate picture of your situation. If, for example, you have recently had a heart attack or stroke, I would need to know whether your health had stabilised. This is not because hypnotherapy or EMDR are dangerous, but to ensure you are getting the most appropriate care at what has already been a difficult time. Hypnotherapy and EMDR, used appropriately, are very safe, and definitely not ruled out, but should be used with additional caution where you have a history of epilepsy, stroke, heart attack or severe breathing problems (including severe asthma).
