Ive got a huge number of machines showing up. Is there anyway to narrow it down?
Sure… First use “Filter Results” This narrows down the machines by matching the string entered to characters in the machine name. Second, instead of querying your entire domain, create a custom machines.dat file that contains only the machines you want in your list. The machines in this custom file must all start with 2 backslashes(\\) Note: If you press the query button, it will erase your custom file. Remote Assistance is giving me an error, “Access to the requested resource has been disabled by your Administrator” Before a machine will accept an “unsolicited” offer for help that machine must be configured. You can do this with a local or domain policy. Microsoft has a good KB article on the subject. Don’t ask me, I won’t be able to help.
