Ive got a 56K V.90 Modem, and I usually get disconnected several times a day. Whats wrong?
In some areas, the phone lines simply won’t support a 56K connection. Usually, 56K only works well within city limits, because the phone lines and phone company equipment are usually much newer and in much better condition there. The best solution in this situation is to disable the 56K portion of your modem. The instructions for this can be found at http://www.56k.com/trouble/interop.shtml. Back to General Questions.
