A Product Error Alerts (PEA) is a StarTCC Informational APAR that is used to alert clients of a HIPER (also referred to as HYPER) problem that does not yet have an available solution. Because a solution is not available, it is important that we notify our clients on how to avoid the problem and how to handle the situation should it occur. Clients that have registered for HIPER notification in StarTCC will receive email whenever a PEA is issued. In general, a HIPER Solution that delivers a PTF fix will follow a PEA. There may be times when a follow up solution is not needed. For example, this may occur if the PEA is an alert for a problem impacting our products that is actually resolved by another vendor.
