Well, first, you should never do an iTunes update while your iPod is connected to your computer, as you have found out. I’m not really sure what has happened with your iPod because you did this, but obviously something got messed up. The only thing I can think of that you can do now is to do a Restore on your iPod. If you aren’t familiar with this, when you Restore your iPod, you are restoring its original factory settings and it will be just like it’s brand new when you first got it. This also means that it will delete everything off of your iPod, which you want it to do because you need to get rid of whatever your problem is. Because you still have all of your music, etc., on your computer, this won’t be a problem because once you do a Restore on your iPod and then sync it back to your computer again, it will download everything from your computer and copy it back into your iPod and everything should be OK again.
