Its too expensive to operate Kiefer Landfill – can it be run more cost-efficiently?
In October 1999, the Department hired a consultant to research and prepare a study entitled Operation Efficiency and Cost Study for North Area Transfer Station and Kiefer Landfill. The project was designed to provide independent input regarding methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency. The study provided a number of key findings and recommendations to improve efficiency at Kiefer Landfill.
