Ans. There has always been a dispute on its pronunciation. It is not same has dhal but is closer to dhal than to daal. The prophet (SA) has a tradition where he says: I am the most eloquent to pronounce the letter dhad. This shows that there was a difference even in his time on its pronounciation.
