It sounds cumbersome, like some crazy PTA committee thing. Does that mean every decision gets voted on by all members?
No. The members annually elect a Board of Directors. The Board hires top-level management, whose job it is to make all the day-to-day decisions and hire staff. The Board creates policy, a mission, and a vision in line with what the membership wants, and management carries out that vision. 4. I’m a Craftsperson/Caterer. I don’t want a bunch of actors telling me how to run my business. Not a problem. The day-to-day coordination of Craft/Cater affairs is run by staff, not by coop members. It’s representative democracy, not direct. 5. I’m an actor. I don’t want to be considered a second-class citizen less important than booth folk. If you are a member of the co-op, you will be an owner with a vested interest. We all need that audience equally, and our common interests are greater than what divides us. 6.
