It seems like we’re the only subdivision in the area that doesn’t have a playscape for residents, why is that when there are so many children in our sub?

The builder didn’t put any playscapes in our common areas when the sub was being built (from the late 1970’s to early 1990’s). Because of the way our accounts work, in order to put a playscape in, we’d need to have the money come out of our operating budget. Since it’s not an existing structure, the money can’t be taken out of our Reserve Account. With commercial playscapes costing $20K-$30K, we don’t have that kind of extra money in our operating budget to put one in. Tonda Elementary put in 1 new playscape for the younger grades a few years ago and is in the process of putting in a new kindergarten playscape and new playscape for the older grades. As long as school isn’t in session, residents are welcome to use them.
