It is often said that accounting coursebooks are only as good as their exercises and problem sets, what does this course offer?
The authors believe that students must “engage” in the course to personalize their course of study. To facilitate this, exercises are offered at the end of each learning objective. With each exercise a response area in the coursebook itself is provided. This is to encourage students to use the coursebook to the fullest and actually attempt to complete the exercises in writing. As feedback is essential, the end of each unit provides students with answers to the exercises. At the end of each unit, problem sets are provided, again with integrated answer templates right in the coursebook. (Unlike excercises, solutions to problems sets are not included in the student’s course.) Finally, at the very end of each unit, extensive application sets are provided. These are solved using the robust Excel templates specially setup for each application set OR manually by printing out the input screens in the Excel template.
