Some trusts have used available data migration funding to recruit temporary resources or services to assist in the merger of records. The decision over what records to merge remains with the NHS. Record Management: NHS Code of Practice and local Record Management Policy are appropriate references. Trusts are encouraged to contact their Strategic Health Authority. Duplicate records must not be migrated into NHS Care Records Service systems.
