– Well it is difficult to say what is normal or otherwise regards swelling after any trauma, as each of us react differently to the same traumatic insult. One week possibly could be considered within the normal range and more so if the area injected initially was large! I recommend antihistamines like Benadryl at night and Tylenol during the day to help the swelling settle down. Most patients really like a bag of frozen peas (cold compress for the first 24 hrs or so) on the swollen area for about 20 minutes or so. If your doctor says that is ok, it should help. Your swelling should at least slowly be improving every day.
