It has been claimed that pharmaceuticals are sometimes contaminated. Is this a good argument for using homeopathic products instead?
There are some extremely strict standards in place concerning the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, with regard to purity. These standards notwithstanding, I don’t doubt that some trace amounts of undesirable contaminants make it into these products, as well as into nearly any chemical product of any kind that is ever manufactured. Homeopathic products are not held to the same standards that apply to pharmaceuticals, and are very often manufactured under much cruder conditions than those under which pharmaceuticals would be allowed to be manufactured. It stands to reason, then, that homeopathic products are much more likely to be contaminated with larger amounts of potentially harmful contaminants than are pharmaceutical products. In fact, given the extreme degree to which homeopathic products are diluted, it seems very likely that there is actually much more of these undesirable contaminants in any homeopathic product then there is of the active ingredients. I would have to say
