It feels like the water is going into my ear. Whats wrong, and is this safe?
When performing nasal irrigation properly, the only way the saline solution can enter the inner ear is if you blow your nose while covering one or both nostrils. Usually when people experience a sensation of fluid moving in the inner ear (often combined with a sensation of pressure in the inner ear, like being on a plane) during or immediately after performing nasal irrigation, this is caused by mucous draining out of the ear. Although this can be uncomfortable, this a good sign and will normally clear up after a few days of regular use of nasal irrigation.
