Isn the Tea Party Movement just an offshoot of the Republican Party?
No! The Tea Party movement is a conservative and populist protest movement in the United States. It emerged in early 2009 partially in response to the federal government’s stimulus package, officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Individuals in the Tea Party Movement believe that the National Republican Party is not representing the interests of many conservatives. In an effort to stop the current excesses of the National Democratic party and the serious grabs of more federal power the Tea Party movement may be temporarily allied with the Republican Party.
