Isn storm chasing dangerous?
Yes. Storm chasing is very dangerous. You are putting yourself and your vehicle in what could become a very dangerous situation. A chaser must be on his or her toes at all times! Even when you think you are out of harms way, keep an eye open. Chasers not only have to deal with lightning, hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding, but also other things that usually are not considered. For example, getting stuck on a muddy road during a tornado warned storm. Getting struck by flying debris or lightning. A big one, watching traffic! It is very easy to get too focused on a storm and not pay attention to other chasers. When chasing and deciding to stop and observe, PULL OFF OF THE ROAD COMPLETELY! Also, watch out for other motorists passing by or on the road.
