Isnt Outlook Express vulnerable to some sort of attack? Do I need to worry?
Several new e-mail programs, including Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, and Qualcomm Eudora are, in theory, vulnerable to attack by malicious computer hackers. Basically, if a specially designed file attachment is sent to someone using any of these programs, the program could malfunction, leaving the computer vulnerable to another attack, which could, in theory, do anythingup to, and including, erasing all of the information on the machine. However, it has never happened. Microsoft is aware of the problem and is working on a solution. When it is available, I will install it on each of our computers. Until then, you might choose not to open messages which contain file attachments from people that you do not knownot a bad idea in any case, really. But please dont worry about it.
