Isn Melbourne 2030 wrong for Dandenong?
This project is about revitalising and transforming Dandenong. It is about improving the economic and social fortunes of the area and creating new jobs. The project is consistent with 2030 but Melbourne 2030 is a broader plan that relates to the whole of Melbourne. 11. Are there examples of urban redevelopments overseas or in Australia which have worked and how successful have they been? Have they resulted in major increases to property values, quality of life, jobs etc? There are numerous examples of successful urban redevelopments in different parts of the world, which have revitalised rundown areas, providing additional activities, jobs and increasing property values which attract private sector investment. Places in which there have been successful revitalisation projects include parts of London, Manchester, Liverpool, Los Angeles, Washington, New York, Berlin, Baltimore and Boston.
