Isn Medavie Blue Cross a new corporation and new employer?
Medavie Blue Cross will not be the employer of the EMT’s. The government is negotiating a contract with Medavie Blue Cross to implement and manage the new ambulance service, but the Minister of Health was clear that EMT’s will be direct employees of the new entity to be created under Part III. We assume that Medavie Blue Cross will have its own management structure and perhaps some employees to administer its end of the contract, but this is only speculation.
