Isn it illegal to sell tickets for more than face value?
In California and many other states, selling tickets for more than face value is NOT illegal, since the additional charges over face value can be itemized as a service fee. It is, however, illegal to sell tickets (at any price) to an event on the day of that event, on the venue grounds without permission from the facilitators of the event.
