Isnt it illegal discrimination to ask employment applicants if they are members of a special population?
Yes, it is inappropriate to ask applicants about their protected class status, however you can (should) ask about their knowledge and experience of the culture and community of a specific population group, as well as their experience working with the specific population. Experience in this regard should be a job qualification.
