Isnt a doula only useful once labor starts??
Most certainly not! In fact, a large part of the doulas work starts long before labor does. A doula is someone to ask prenatal questions, and can provide exercise and physical suggestions to make pregnancy more comfortable. She is there to listen to pregnancy complaints, emotional concerns, and to share the excitement surrounding the newest member of the family to be. In addition, she can assist the mom and her partner in creating their birth plan.
