iSeries / AS400 FAQ : (Category) General : How do I tune the AS/400 for Domino?
Found in IBM Knowledge Base Article #164017 TUNING YOUR SERVER The first step in tuning your server is to monitor it from a performance point of view. There are essentially four tools that are available on the AS/400 to monitor performance: • WRKACTJOB (Work with Active Jobs). This command has been mentioned above. It can be used to tell which jobs are using how much of the CPU%. It is a high-level indication of possible trouble spots. For example, if some job (say, STATS) is using 100% of the CPU and it is not supposed to be doing anything, this may indicate that there is something wrong with STATS. • WRKSYSSTS (Work with System Status). This is the bread-and-butter performance indicator. This is another command that works best if the assistance level is set to intermediate. Enter the WRKSYSSTS command; when the screen displays, press PF21. Set the assistance level to intermediate (2) and press Enter.
