Summer Sierra summers are warm and dry – less than 5% of Yosemite’s total annual precipitation falls during summer months. Some waterfalls are completely dry by August. Daytime temperatures sometimes reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit, while summer nights are cool. Tuolumne Meadows at 8,600 feet elevation are typically in the 70’s on mid-summer days and in the 30’s at night. Wildflowers appear in Tuolumne Meadows in July.
