Is YMCA’s Dick Whitworth looking at another job…Principal Dillon too?
– Rumors are flying around Melrose that the embattled President of the Melrose YMCA, Richard Whitworth is talking to Bellevue Golf Club in relation to a possible position as head of the club. Bellevue is a private club in Melrose, MA. These are unconfirmed reports, but many local Melrose insiders say that Whitworth should move on. There is no indication at this time that Nancy Madden, the Y’s Vice President is also looking to resign from the Melrose YMCA, but most locals feel she too should step down. At the same time, Joe Dillon, Principal of Melrose High School is interviewing north of the border for a position at Souhegan High in Amherst NH. If Dillon accepts the offer, his reported pay of $112,000 will drop by almost $10,000. The pay range at Souhegan High School is $95,000 to $105,000.
