It is not plagiarism because you did not copy the other person’s ideas. You just used the same quote. Of course it is going to say 28% (which isn’t bad by the way), because someone else has SIMILAR ideas and may have repeated something you have written. Don’t worry that is not plagiarism at all. If your teacher brings it up because you have 28%, make sure you tell him/her that you did the same quotes, but you have your own interpretation and that might have been what caused it. If the only similar thing was citations than that actually means you have 0% plagiarism. You are allowed to use the sources that others have used. I had like 40% plagiarism with my works cited page because so many people used the same sources. There should be a button that says like don’t include work cited page. That will give you a true answer. The teacher only looks at the stuff that is not cited for plagiarism. No worries.
