The technology is completely different, but the name is confusing. Like all projectiion TVs, LCD Projection looks terrible unless you’re sitting in the exact sweet spot right in front of the set. Even then, they looked much dimmer and blurrier than flat panel TVs and the old Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) TVs. I honestly could not recommend an LCD projection TV to anyone.
