Is working with a Victim Advocate confidential?

0

Absolutely. When you choose to engage a Victim Advocate, they are working under the Personal Counseling Center cloak of confidentiality in the role of Victim Advocate as outlined in Florida Law. You will be provided an Informed Consent that includes the following: “I understand that my conversations with my advocate are confidential except: 1) in life threatening situations, 2) cases of suspected child abuse for those under 18 years of age, 3) when a release is required by law, 4) when you specifically request that an advocate release information to a third party.
