Is witness signature is necessary in informed consent for an educated volunteer ?
CHP: Keep in mind what the witness is for. They are to attest that the SP is who the SP says she/he is and is the same person who has signed the ICF. It does not make any difference if the SP is educated or not. Keep in mind the reason for the witness. Another function of a witness is to assure that the IC process is non-coercive.
