With satellite Internet your signal travels 25 miles up to an orbiting satellite, and then 25 miles back. That time delay is why satellite Internet is unsuitable for Internet telephone (VoIP), VPN connections and gaming and may be affected by weather conditions. Wireless Internet travels between your rooftop and the mountain top tower or local neighborhood relay.
