Is Wire EDM comparable to Water jet and Laser?
For certain jobs Wire EDM is the better choice. An example would be Water jet is only accurate to about .005 and can only cut about 2.0 thick to this tolerance. While Wire EDM is accurate to about .0002, and also has the ability to cut up to 15.0 thick with good accuracy. If thin parts are what you are after Wire EDM cuts stacks of parts more accurate and cleaner than comparable Laser cutting. If they are stacked and nested properly the price can be better as well..
