Is Wicked The Musical Demonic?
Wow. Yeah, there are witches and magic, but that means the Wizard of Oz is therefore demonic as well. There’s a lot of political allegory in Wicked. It could be considered a metaphor in some aspects to Hitler’s Germany. Or any society where one group is oppressed, others ignore the fact because it doesn’t affect them, and individuals go against the status quo to try and make a difference. It speaks to strong themes, but it takes place in another world where things considered ‘evil’ are very normal–in Wicked at Shiz University, a Sorcery Seminar is offered to those who prove adept. Wicked is an amazing show. Do NOT use another’s opinion to judge anything which you have not seen/experienced for yourself. It just turns into a situation of the ‘deaf’ leading the ‘blind’.
