As a musical, it’s visually and musically good. Storyline-wise, I didn’t like it. If you’ve NEVER read the Wicked Novels and any of the original Wizard of Oz novels, then you will DEFINITELY enjoy it. However, if you did read the Wicked Novels and the original Oz books, you might hate it. I did read the novels before and I hated the changes that they did for the musical. The Wicked Novel was brilliant in that it fit perfectly with Frank Baum’s original novels. The musical, however, does NOT fit with the novels. The origins of the Scarecrow and Tin Man in the musical are WAY OFF from the novels. If you already did read the original novels forget about them so you can enjoy the musical.
