I think it would be best if we define welfare as described in 1776. I can assure you it doesnt mean welfare checks and food stamps. Also to promote doesnt mean we steal from one group and give to another that also doesn’t sound like liberty to me. The socialist of this fourm would have us believe in order to benefit society we must STEAL from one group and give to another. STEALING and using force against someone’s fruit of their hardwork and labor doesnt sound to benefit anyone other then the elite in government. Seems the more we put into this system of moving money from neighbor to neighbor only brings corruption and pandering in washington. Liberty of the individual is destroyed and dependancy is accepted and promoted in society. Dependancy on government beings slavery to it not liberty. Also let us go to the people who actually wrote the constitution and their thoughts on welfare. This way we can see the intent not those who would use it for tryanny against different incomes and c
