Is water available on the Barr Trail?

No. However, there is a spigot at Barr Camp. It’s a good idea to take a quality water filter with you in case you have to drink untreated, “natural” water. The filter should, at a minimum, be able to filter out Giardia cysts. If you don’t have a filter and need to drink untreated water, you should boil it for at least 3-5 minutes. The best idea is to take enough “safe” water with you to see you through the hike. For more information on the Barr Trail, visit the Barr Camp Web site at http://www.barrcamp.com/.
