Is Walmart trying to kill Miley Cyrus fans?
You don’t have to try hard to get me to write something unfavorable about Walmart, considering the corporation is absolutely devastating small town America, but it’s nice when they go out of their way to give me something to be disgusted by. An Associated Press investigation revealed that Miley Cyrus jewelry proven to contain high levels of cadmium, a toxic metal, is still being sold by the chain, even though they are aware of the problem. They also found an additional line of jewelry Walmart is selling that contains the same metal. Long-term exposure to cadmium can cause bone-softening and kidney failure. That’s an awfully intense investment to prove your Miley love, but don’t worry, by the time your kidneys fail, I’m sure you’ll be able to buy a new one at Walmart. Although Walmart has a plan to make all future jewelry lines prove their materials don’t contain cadmium, that doesn’t apply to stuff already on the shelf, apparently.
