No, computer DVD drives also have a region lock. the region lock is independent of software, doesn’t matter whether you use VLC or Windows Media Player. You can, however, change the DVD drive region to and fro about 4 times # Select Properties and go to the Hardware tab # Find your DVD drive in this list again and click the Properties button # Go to the DVD Region tab # Now in the list of regions find the place where your DVD arrives from, select it and click OK You are limited to 4 changes — after that, the DVD drive is permanently locked to the region.
