Is Visa payWave really secure for cardholders?
Cards with the payWave technology are as secure as all Visa cards and offer the same great protection. Cardholders are covered by multiple layers of security, including Zero Liability® for unauthorized purchases, so transactions are as secure as traditional transactions and are processed through the same payment network. Before any transaction can be completed, a unique transaction code is generated with each payment and is then verified through the reader. Plus, the cardholder never has to hand over their card to an unknown person, and transaction errors are minimal since each secure terminal can only process one card at a time.
